Missouri's Chelsea Thomas and Rhea Taylor helped lead the USA Softball Women's National Team to two more wins at the Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship yesterday in Surrey, British Columbia, as Team USA defeated Japan 5-1 and Venezuela 10-0 in four innings.
The United States is now 5-1 during pool play.

SHANGHAI - For the past eight years, the major competitive story line at every meaningful swimming championship has arisen from Michael Phelps' international and historic dominance. How many medals will he win? How many records will he break? How dramatically will he increase his own legend?

As Jared Ferree's sweet tenor lamented the heartbreak of war and the fears of loved ones floated into their ears and hearts, in the song "Letters from War," a hush fell over members of the sold-out audience packing Mt. San Antonio College's Sophia Clarke Theater for the recent ninth annual Spring Thing.
The springtime concert showcasing Fermata Nowhere, the college's male a cappella ensemble and 2009 winner of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, was filled with songs celebrating hilarity and just-plain fun, romance, jazz as America's original music, standard and Broadway classics, vocal maestros, awesome arrangers and pop, country and urban contemporary wizards.
