In an interview, Ian Johnson, the vice president of the World Bank's Program for Sustainable Development and chairman of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research, discusses the strategies for the World Bank Group. He said that social and environmental sustainability implies a number of things: 1. They recognize poverty alleviation will only come about by doing more than simply dealign with the economic demension of development. 2. The other demension is the social demsion.
