Spectators will be able to watch artists, including a blacksmith, at work during the first international art adventure featuring more than 60 artists from the coastal border region of eastern Maine and southern New Brunswick. The two-day event will be held 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 15-16, in communities in Washington County and Charlotte County, New Brunswick.

But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high- profile race and towing the line in a top-secret spy mission, Mater's action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world.
Going on an exchange with Friendship Force International was sure to be an adventure. With Friendship Force, we travel into the heart of a country, learning about the culture and people by living with local families. Our Memphis Friendship Force Club had the opportunity to visit Urla, Turkey, spending a week with members of their club. The town, not far from Izmir (historically known as Smyrna), is a resort town on the beautiful Aegean. Annette Bickers and I roomed together with the Albayrak family . Our hosts could not have been more generous; we took the teenagers' bedrooms. Both Nazan and Turgay spoke English, and their two teens did too, somewhat.
Alliant Energy Corp. is winding down its international adventure forays that include operations in Mexico, Brazil and China and returning to more reliable Midwestern roots. The promise of fast-growing demand for electricity and higher returns than U.S. utilities earn lured the company overseas, and Alliant continued to invest in them through last year.
