Conditions on relationships between choices and pricing incentives for quality when output necessitates an input-conditioned distribution of products over the quality spectrum are developed. The conditions involved impose integral and differential requirements on the differences between price-quality schedules as well as integral and differential requirements on the quality-conditioned marginal product function. The findings were obtained by combining standard integration-by-parts methods with the optimization theory on a lattice.

While there are differences in the priorities people assign to the different aspects of immigration reform, nearly everyone agrees that there are three parts to really solving our immigration problems: security, economic participation and civic integration.
By authorizing a more secure fence along some of the most frequently trespassed parts of our border, Congress made a first step on the security issue. But, without some way of monitoring immigrants within the country, this is only a partial answer to the security issue. Moreover, economic participation and civic integration remain untouched.

This research analyzes the drivers of firm growth strategies and the relationship between internationalization and diversification based on the longitudinal study of the Volkswagen Group from 1937 until 2007. The study shows that firm resources, the needs of consumers, and the needs of the business all influence choices of growth strategies. The study also shows that internationalization need not be at the expense of diversification. Indeed, it seems to be an inevitable decision to internationalize and at the same diversify the range of offered products in order to avoid failure in the turbulent, investment-intensive automotive industry.
