The U.S. EPA Office of Research and Development's National Center for Environmental Assessment (NCEA) is preparing an Integrated Science Assessment (ISA) as part of the review of the primary National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for oxides of nitrogen (NO<INF>X</INF>). The scientific review that informs the ISA will include evidence for NO<INF>X</INF> whereas the indicator for NO<INF>X</INF> that has been used for the standard is nitrogen dioxide (NO<INF>2</INF>). Thus, the ISA is referred to as the NO<INF>X</INF> ISA while the standard itself is referred to as the NO<INF>2</INF> NAAQS. This ISA is intended to update the scientific assessment presented in the Integrated Science Assessment for Oxides of Nitr...

Families, homes and towns are the products of years of work, relationships, dreams, fears and, sometimes, a thoughtful plan based on a vision of what can be. Guilford is an extraordinary town, its character realized over centuries, informed by the foresight and dedication of its leaders and citizens.
Its 2002 Town Plan of Conservation and Development is an example of residents' consensus and integrated planning. It demonstrates that a plan can be both visionary and practical. Esthetics and economics are not mutually exclusive. Our future depends on the wisdom of recognizing that.
