We propose to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Model A330-200 and -300 series airplanes; Model A330-223F and -243F airplanes; and Model A340-200, -300, -500, and -600 series airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by a report that during the evaluation of specific engine failure cases at take-off on Airbus flight simulators. It has been shown that with flight control primary computer (FCPC)1 inoperative, in worst case scenario, when FCPC2 and FCPC3 resets occur during rotation at take off, a transient loss of elevator control associated with a temporary incorrect flight control law reconfiguration could occur. • A Step to Make Streets, Community Safer

CRITICS OF a proposed gun buyback program in Chesapeake already know its shortcomings: Only law-abiding citizens likely will participate, not criminals. Such programs are often costly and limited in scope. Lots of inoperative firearms are turned in along with the working weapons. Those are valid concerns. Still, we applaud Chesapeake's latest initiative to tamp down violent shootings. City and religious leaders and residents pushed the proposal, one of several emanating from community meetings held after two young men were fatally shot in South Norfolk on the same day in July. Others include mentoring, assumption of parental responsibility and re-entry programs for recently released inmates and felons.

Commentators as diverse as Gerald Bruns and David Krell recognize that Blanchot invokes a Hegelian idiom to elucidate important aspects of his theory of literature in the essay "Literature and the Right to Death.'" Yet, scholars have not taken enough stock of Blanchot's reliance upon Hegelian resources to develop one of his most provocative (and difficult) claims, namely, that our encounters with literature culminate in a certain liminal, and, perhaps also, limit experience of worklessness (désoeuvrement).2 I maintain that Blanchot's association of literature with worklessness comprises a direct, if somewhat tacit, refusal of Hegel's determination of art as a work of spirit.
