A product called Worklenz created by Metier (www.metier.com), a Washington, D.C. information-technology company, tracks a computer user's keystrokes and helps determine whether they are on schedule with their segments of large projects.
Keith Witherell, director of information technology user services for the University of Southern Maine and a music director at the Lyric Music Theatre, died on Tuesday. He was 49. Mr. Witherell began at USM teaching computer courses for the School of Business in the mid 1990s. He also led computing seminars for faculty members. He left his teaching post to become head of USM's help desk and was promoted to the director's post in 2006.
NIST is soliciting interest in supplying electronic health record (EHR) systems for use by NIST in research to develop a framework for assessing the usability of health information technology (HIT) systems, EHRs in particular, and performance-oriented user interface design guidelines for EHRs. Manufacturers interested in participating in this research will be asked to execute a Letter of Understanding. Interested parties are invited to contact NIST for information regarding participation, Letters of Understanding and shipping information.
