A stalemate over how much amusement park operator Six Flags owes the city for the remainder of its lease for the shuttered theme park in eastern New Orleans is a step closer to being resolved.
The Industrial Development Board, the city's landlord for the property, is expected to a lease termination and settlement agreement, according to a statement from Mayor Ray Nagin's office. A federal bankruptcy court is scheduled to hold a hearing Oct. 8 to consider the agreement.

A Los Angeles company that specializes in redeveloping corporate real estate has bought Intel's now-closed Colorado Springs computer- chip manufacturing plant and put it on the market for sale or lease, a broker who is marketing the property said Friday.
Industrial Realty Group, which buys distressed corporate real estate and converts the properties for lease to multiple tenants, bought the 1.4 million-square-foot plant at 1575 Garden of the Gods Road for an undisclosed price, said Michael Palmer of Grubb & Ellis/ Quantum Commercial Group in the Springs. Intel laid off most of its remaining 110 employees earlier this year and vacated the property in June; production ended at the plant nearly two years ago.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is considering a proposal to change a portion of the airport from aeronautical use to non-aeronautical use and to authorize the lease of the airport property. The proposal consists of 2 parcels of land with the lease portion totaling approximately 5.4 acres. Current use and present condition is partially developed land compatible with local commercial/ industrial zoning classification. The land was acquired under the FAA Project Numbers 9-20-072-6001, 3-26-0039-02, and 3-26-0055-44208. There are no impacts to the airport by allowing the airport to lease the property, since the land is no longer needed for aeronautical use. IRWINDALE -- A Central California investor has acquired a 40,000- square-foot industrial building in Irwindale for $3.34 million and is remarketing the property for lease, GVA DAUM announced.
Gene and Dorothy Gallonio and Valmore Major and his wife sold the vacant building at 16019 Adelante St. to Donald Cavalletto of Paso Robles, said H.R. McClain of the Industry office of GVA DAUM.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is considering a proposal to change a portion of airport land from aeronautical use to non-aeronautical use at the Seymour (Freeman) Field Municipal Airport in Seymour, Indiana. The proposal consists of 871 acres located outside of the fenced in portion of airport property. This land is currently being farmed. The entire 871 acres is part of Quitclaim Deed from the United States Department of Defense in 1941.
