BETHEL -- Inclement weather forecast for this weekend and next has bumped Sunday's second annual Fall Foliage Community Event air show into a holding pattern at Bethel Regional Airport.
The show, which provides an opportunity to promote general aviation and the airport through scenic flights offered to the public, was originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 16. Sunday, Oct. 17 was the rain date.

DeSoto County public school students will begin classes on Aug. 4 next school year and finish on May 22 under the 2011-12 calendar approved Tuesday by school board members.
The calendar also builds in six inclement weather days, up from five this year and last. Winter weather forced cancellation of enough class days last year to require a day of Saturday classes after all the built-in days were exhausted, and weather this year threatens to do the same.

With several weeks of winter remaining, the New York State Thruway Authority wants to remind motorists of the need to be aware of the road conditions during inclement winter weather.

From staff reports The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference will make a decision on its Web site (ciacsports.com) no later than 10 a.m. today on whether the state football finals will be played at 2 p.m. if inclement weather becomes an issue.
Those finals are Class L at Shelton (Notre Dame vs. Pomperaug), Class MM at Bunnell (New Canaan vs. East Lyme), Class SS at West Haven (Montville vs. St. Joseph) and Class S at Municipal Stadium in Waterbury (Hyde vs. Northwest Catholic).

Daytime traffic restrictions on Brownsville Road in Baldwin and Whitehall will last another two days due to delays caused by inclement weather, Allegheny County officials said.
From 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday and Monday, Brownsville Road is scheduled be reduced to a single lane heading south between Curry Hollow Road and Streets Run Road while construction crews are paving.
