Writing in these pages several years ago, I unkindly commented that the literary factory of master thriller-writer Tom Clancy "seems to be showing signs of rust belt obsolescence." Essentially, I argued, Mr. Clancy had milked the same character for so many books that his material was running thin. Well, relax and rejoice. The master of his genre is back, with the expert insight - not to mention boom-and-bang - that has captivated millions of readers since his 1985 debut with "The Hunt for Red October." Mr. Clancy has taken on a co-writer, Peter Telep, author of about 40 novels on his own - a man who knows the Clancy territory and writes with Clancy zest. The product is pure Clancy.

A number of local individuals and groups, most notably the Woburn Residents' Environmental Network (WREN), favor continuation of existing passive recreational use of the site and oppose any attempt on the part of the City to sell the land for development. 368 Mass. 376; 331 N.E.Zd 883 (1975), the town of Rockland, Mass., authorized the construction of an artificial ice skating rink on land conveyed to the town in 1917 with the stipulation in the deed that the land was "to be kept and used as a public park in perpetuity for the public good and to be called the Maj. In the Glass v. Commr. case, the petitioners made contributions to a long-standing nonprofit nature conservancy of 2 conservation easements in perpetuity that generally preclude them or any subsequent owner of the property from ever developing or disturbing the natural state of much of the bluff. The Tax Court held that each of the contributions is a qualified conservation contribution under Section 170(h)(1) in that the conservation easements protect a relatively natural habitat of plants or wildlife and the nonprofit holds the conservation easements exclusively for conservation purposes.
MINNEAPOLIS - The campaign to deny Luis Paucar his right to economic liberty illustrates the ingenuity people will invest in concocting perverse arguments for novel entitlements. This city's taxi cartel is offering an audacious new rationalization for corporate welfare, asserting a right - a constitutional right, in perpetuity - to revenues it would have received if Minneapolis' City Council had not ended the cartel that never should have existed. Paucar, 37, embodies the best qualities of American immigrants. He is a splendidly self-sufficient entrepreneur. And he is wielding American principles against some Americans who, in their decadent addiction to government assistance, are trying to litigate themselves to prosperity at the expense of Paucar and the public.
