The Topeka Zoo just can't seem to catch a break. After months of controversy over the quality of animal care and the lack of transparency -- sometimes outright deception -- on the part of zoo management, the advocacy group In Defense of Animals has called for the Topeka Zoo to close its elephant exhibit and send its two elephants, one African and one Asian, to a sanctuary.
