Ten railroad-improvement projects across Western New York are receiving $14.6 million in state funding, Gov. David A. Paterson announced Tuesday.
The projects will be funded through the 2005 Transportation Bond Act and the governor's Passenger and Freight Rail Assistance Program. In all, the state is funding 34 rail and port projects valued at more than $42 million.

This process allows imported merchandise to be entered at one U.S. port of entry without appraisement or payment of duties and transported by a bonded carrier to another U.S. port of entry provided all statutory and regulatory conditions are met.
