In this week's mail, I received a really nice letter from Jesse White, the Illinois Secretary of State. Jesse dropped me a line to inform me that I am eligible to take part in the state's "Safe Driver Sticker Renewal Program.
If I understand it correctly, all I have to do is send Jesse a check for $30, and he'll send me a renewal sticker for the back of my driver's license. I won't have to go to the license bureau, take a driving test or even one of those pesky eye exams. That's great news for this "mature driver."
