Illinois Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Judy Baar Topinka must be desperate. Three months after her campaign told columnist George Will that they don't want President Bush campaigning for her in Illinois, just raising money -- preferably "late at night" and "in an undisclosed location" -- Topinka is bringing the president to Chicago for a special interest fundraiser. (Washington Post, 4/9/ 06) This afternoon, the president is expected to collect $1.2 million for her struggling campaign.
