A total of 410 entries from Dissertation Abstracts have been identified and annotated in this fourth compendium of supply chain management (SCM) and logistics-related dissertations. Findings relating to this latest study period (1999-2004) are presented and comparisons made to previous compendiums covering 1970-1986, 1987-1991, and 1992-1998. A larger number of colleges and universities are granting degrees in SCM and logistics-related areas and some new players have entered the marketplace, resulting in an upward growth trend in the absolute number of dissertations being published since the early-1990's.
