On the morning of September 30, 2011, Edna Irene Dillon Hubbard, 87, of Bedford, went home to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ forever. Buffalo Bills wide receiver Paul E. Hubbard III was granted a hardship driver's license Monday after pleading not guilty to drunken driving charges from a July 24 incident downtown in which a police officer was struck but not seriously injured. City Judge Susan Eagan granted the conditional license but sternly warned Hubbard, 26, that he is allowed to drive only from his Orchard Park home to Bills training camp at St. John Fisher College in Pittsford pending resolution of his criminal case.

The trial court did not err in granting a plea withdrawal motion filed two days after the plea was accepted because any such error was invited. Sufficient evidence of guilt existed to sustain convictions for rape and kidnapping. Appellants reliance on information outside of the record to substantiate a claim of ineffective assistance of counsel should have been raised in a postconviction relief petition where a report obtained by appellants trial counsel could have been introduced and considered. Appellants willingness to talk to police after being advised of his right to remain silent and right to counsel and lack of any evidence of compulsion or mental infirmity indicates he voluntarily waived those rights.

Within 10 months, Hubbard was recording his second album with Blue Note, "Goin' Up," with the same personnel as his first, and a third, "Hub Cap," with Julian Priester and Jimmy Heath. Four months later, in August 1961, he made what many consider his masterpiece, "Ready For [Freddie Hubbard]," which was his first Blue Note collaboration with Wayne Shorter. That same year, he joined Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers (replacing Lee Morgan), working again with Shorter. On May 22, 2012, at the age of 27, Jeremy Lee Hubbard went peacefully to be with Jesus Christ his Savior, where he will no longer be in pain, have no blood draws and no lab work, experience the inside of another hospital room, take another pill, or wait on another test result. He is survived by his parents, Ben and Laura Hubbard, his brother and sister-in-law, Josiah and Ambur, grandparents George and Norma Haberer and Frances Hubbard, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
