WALNUT - Facing challenges from two NFL stadium opponents, incumbent Councilwoman Mary Su has raised over $73,600 for her City Council bid in April, according to campaign records filed Monday.
The prospect of Ed Roski Jr.'s 75,000-seat NFL stadium in neighboring Industry has caused turmoil in Walnut, and Su and Councilman Tom King are fighting to keep their seats against anti- stadium activists Howard Wang and Brigid Bjerke.

Wang moves in: After Demetrius Bell left practice with a strained shoulder, Ed Wang moved to left tackle while Cordaro Howard, just activated from the active/PUP list, took reps with the second team.
Wang appeared in six games last season as a rookie, all in reserve, but coach Chan Gailey said Bell could be out a couple of days, meaning Wang could start the Bills' preseason opener against Chicago on Saturday.

WALNUT - In a city where the prospect of a nearby NFL stadium proved a contentious political issue, incumbents Tom King and Mary Su held off challenges for re-election in Tuesday's City Council election, according to unofficial results.
Su finished first among the candidates, with King close behind. Challengers Howard Wang and Brigid Bjerke, who both opposed the stadium, finished third and fourth, respectively.

WALNUT - It's been nearly five months since a state bill wiped out a citizen group's lawsuit against a proposed NFL stadium in Industry, and two months since a judge tossed it out.
But City Council candidates Howard Wang and Brigid Bjerke insist the potential development is still weighing on voters' minds before the city's April 13 City Council elections.
