This paper uses data from the American Community Survey to study . Both the determinants of self-employment and the earnings of self-employed immigrants are analyzed. I find that the incidence of self-employment is slightly higher among immigrants than among native-born persons. Yet the determinants and the earnings consequences, for the most part, are similar to those of native-born self-employed.
