OWENSBORO, Ky., June 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Owensboro Medical Health System will officially break ground for its 447-bed replacement hospital June 5th with a 5K Walk-Run, activities for families and a ceremony that includes participation from OMHS Board of Directors, employees, physicians, several community groups and elected officials, including US Rep. Brett Guthrie. The state-of-the-art facility will continue to grow as a regional hub for medical treatment, serving patients living in more than 11 counties in Kentucky and Indiana when it opens in 2013. It will feature elements that promote wellness as a lifestyle, designed from ideas gathered from hospital and community groups.

Mayview State Hospital's 32nd annual spring parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday on the grounds at the hospital, 1601 Mayview Road, South Fayette. Marching units this year include Carrick High School Pipes & Drums and Macdonald Pipe Band of Pittsburgh, the Shriner Clowns, the Syria Shriners and local police departments and fire companies. The general public is invited.

LONG BEACH - The Community Hospital Long Beach Foundation will honor longtime supporters at their Annual Condit Spirit Awards at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach Saturday. The Award, which recognizes people who have made a positive impact on CHLB, was named after former Long Beach Mayor Fillmore Condit, whose charitable gift in 1924 helped make the hospital a reality.

A man is expected to live after being shot late Saturday night. The 27-year-old man told police he was walking just east of the intersection of Fountain and Union Boulevards when two men assaulted him, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

AUBURN - An two-car accident on Beech Hill Road sent three people to an area hospital Saturday night. Meaghan A. Farris, 19, of Topsham, Whitney A. Brichetto, 39, of New Gloucester, and Tyler Pushard, 21, no hometown listed, were transported to Central Maine Medical Center, according to the Auburn Police Department. Pushard was a passenger in Farris' vehicle. All three were no longer listed as patients at the hospital as of Monday night, according to a nursing supervisor.
