DAYTON -- The sock monkeys, painted skateboards and colorful origami that adorn the walls of the expanded emergency department at Children's Medical Center of Dayton bring smiles to the faces of young patients and local artists alike. The artwork is part of an $82,000 public art project in partnership with the Dayton Visual Arts Center, one of the region's leading artists' organizations with gallery space at 118 N. Jefferson St. in Dayton.
At Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, we strive to provide excellent care while serving all patients and their families with compassion. Our nurses, physicians and staff members work hard to ensure this happens on a daily basis. This year has been a busy one for our hospital. The higher incidence of chronic illness in our community along with our aging population have led to significant demands for our services. We have seen an increase in the number of patients admitted and longer lengths of in-patient stay. These core changes in the need for our services have, at times, affected our ability to effectively manage patient flow throughout our hospital, including the Emergency Department. Managing our resources to meet this increased demand is an organizational priority.
Pediatric emergency services now available at hospital Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Amherst has begun providing pediatric emergency services with specialized medical personnel from Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo.
