NORTH BERGEN -- A fire ravaged a vacant building Monday morning, and investigators are trying to determine whether a homeless person may have been inside.
The two-story building at 5203 John F. Kennedy Blvd. caught fire about 1:40 a.m. When firefighters arrived, the back part of the building had collapsed, said North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue Deputy Chief Charles Thomas.

The role isn't pretty or sexy, but it's real" says Wilson who is almost unrecognizable when you see her in character. "That human component that there but by the grace of God go I. You know, if you let go enough, give up enough, and feel sorry for yourself enough, content for yourself to being alone, that could be you. So it's about, when you're looking at homeless, this is a person with a name. Somebody with a story, not just somebody you pass by on the street as if they never existed. These are human beings.
"That's a good question. I think just to hold hands and look at her in the face and let her know that I've always been pullin' for her," she says. "Because life is very up and down - you're on your feet one minute, then something can knock you off the next, so it's a process, an...

The facts in "Resurrecting the Champ" are not self-evident.
But this much appears true: It was inspired by the story of a boxer who ended up a homeless person and who claimed to be a former heavyweight boxer named Bob Satterfield. His 1997 story was chronicled by Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter J.R. Moehringer, who wrote the memoir "The Tender Bar.

NEW HAVEN -- While police continued to search Sunday for whoever murdered two homeless people in an abandoned building on Grand Avenue, the victims' friends and family members described them as good people who never bothered anybody. The bodies of Louise Soules, 37, and Mike Mobley, 38, were found inside the three-story building at 776-778 Grand Ave. Saturday morning by another homeless person. Police said the pair had been beaten or stabbed to death.
Police spokeswoman Bonnie Winchester said no arrests were made in the murder Sunday, but she added police "have some good leads and they're following up.

Both Edward Albee's The Zoo Story and Shakespeare's Richard III are young men's plays, comic tours de force about death, despair, and an inadequate self s hunger for power over others. The co-directors display even more sagacity in casting several key roles with actors who can give the rhetoric both grit and poetic value, especially Michael Potts (Buckingham), Judith Roberts (Duchess of York), and Roberta Maxwell, whose Queen Margaret spectacularly combines regal bravura with the tough-jawed lope of a homeless person out for anything she can get.

The aim of this article is to propose a narrative (syntagmatic) theory of how a meeting between spirituality and organizing can occur. The theory is composed of fictive stories collected by me from various authors. It takes the form of another story, a kind of meta-story, authored by me. I look upon spirituality as awareness, and I associate it with smooth space in Deleuze and Guattari's (1996) terminology. Organizing is to me an ongoing process, both based on and enabling communication, and I link it to more striated space. Authors were asked to think about a meeting between those spaces represented by minimal symbols and compose a story. I have organized the narratives according to their main plot and storyline into stories of clash, enclosure, merger, and experience. In the first the...

Rudy Rasmus is not your typical, run-of-the-mill type of guy. He met his wife, Juanita, at a funeral; he hugs at least one homeless person a week; and he used to run a "borderline bordello" brothel-type business where ladies of the night would contract their services to men. His salt and pepper beard is separated into three braids, which meet with brightly-colored beads that probably collide and "click" when he's walking fast, wearing all of his hats as a husband, a father, founder of Bread of Life ministries. Rasmus currently pastors one of the most unique churches in the nation: St. John's United Methodist Church in Houston. At St. John's, "Pastor Rudy" wears his baseball cap for Sunday service.
