DAAA's Detroit Meals on Wheels program delivers meals to approximately 4,000 homebound seniors five days a week living in Detroit Highland Park, Hamtramck, Harper Woods and the five Grosse Pointes. Twenty years ago, the agency's president and CEO, Paul Bridgewater, realized that an unfortunate gap existed in the meal program because there were no deliveries on weekends and holidays, and federal funding was not available. Therefore in 1988, the Holiday Meals on Wheels program was created to provide hot nutritious meals to homebound seniors on Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. The cotillionettes continued their busy schedule on Saturday, July 16, enjoying a sleepover at the home of Link Gail Jackson, Cotillion general chair. At this workshop, Link Anitha Mitchell, M.D. conducted a CPR training for the debs. Link Gail Jackson, M.D. spoke to the girls about healthcare during her "Girl Talk" workshop. Paula Bond, a professional beauty and etiquette consultant held a session with the debs on skin care and dining etiquette. On Saturday, Aug. 13, the young ladies prepared for the future in the college prep workshop at the home of Link [Michelle Turner].
