The Illinois Historic Preservation Agency and the Massac County, Ill., Sheriff's Department are investigating the recent looting and ATV damage at Kincaid Mounds, a series of prehistoric Native American burial mounds in rural Massac and Pope counties. "The criminal disturbance of these human burials in Kincaid Mounds is unconscionable," said Illinois Historic Preservation Agency Director Amy Martin. "We hope to apprehend those who are responsible, which will serve as a deterrent to others who may be considering the desecration of our state's heritage.

ARLINGTON, Va. - A nondescript parking garage where Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward met his Watergate source known as "Deep Throat" now has a historical marker.
WTOP Radio reported that the historic preservation agency in Arlington, Va., quietly installed the marker this month. It is near the garage entrance.

Santa Claus will visit the Old Market House at 123 Commerce St. from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, Dec. 4, 11 and 18.

During the live broadcast of "The Traveling Eye" at the museum, co-host [Bonnie DeShong] noted that the exhibits didn't "whitewash" Lincoln's image. Visitors were able see who he really was and how others felt about the nation's President during such tumultuous times.
