  • NEW HAVEN -- Ronald McDonald House Charities of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts recently awarded $10,000 to Leadership Education and Athletics in Partnership Inc. for the LEAP Computer Learning Center renovation, the company said. The grant was part of a total of $88,500 given to seven organizations. In addition to the LEAP money that will help that organization purchase computers, the grants to other groups are intended to help fund items for children's initiatives, including medical supplies for a local hospital's pediatric treatment area, toys and furnishings for children in area shelters, and computers and software for children living in high poverty neighborhoods, the company said in a statement.
