WASHINGTON, April 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The CtW Investment Group sent a letter to the Community Health Systems' (NYSE: CYH) board of directors on Friday threatening a Vote No campaign against directors seeking re-election at Community's May 17 shareholder meeting unless the board immediately provides a compelling response to concerns regarding Community's aggressive Medicare billing practices. The Investment Group's concerns were reinforced by the announcement on Friday that Community also received a subpoena from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' OIG on April 8th in connection with an investigation into Community's billing practices. WASHINGTON, Dec. 20 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Department of Justice announced today that it will require UnitedHealth Group Inc. and PacifiCare Health Systems Inc. to divest portions of PacifiCare's commercial health insurance business in Tucson, Arizona and Boulder, Colorado in order to proceed with their merger. The Department will also require United to modify and, after one year, terminate its network access agreement with Blue Shield of California. The Department said that the deal as originally proposed likely would have resulted in higher prices and lower quality commercial health insurance plans.

The four major health care systems in the Milwaukee area are vying to buy or form a partnership with Advanced Healthcare, a physician practice with revenue of more than $200 million a year and approximately 162,000 patients.
Advanced Healthcare is the largest independent practice not aligned with a health care system in southeast Wisconsin, and the outcome of the negotiations could bring sweeping changes to the health care market in the Milwaukee area.
