Health Services Credit Union and Alliant Credit Union are joining with Operation: New View Community Action Agency to provide free financial education classes to Dubuque residents. Participants will learn the Four Cornerstones of Financial Literacy in a four-part class starting Monday, Nov. 7.

Classes run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and are held at the Prescott Community Center, 1151 White St.
Alliant Credit Union and its division, Health Services Credit Union, announced Tuesday that the business was ranked first in Iowa and eighth in the nation for its overall return to members by Callahan & Associates, a Washington, D.C., ranking firm for financial institutions. Callahan & Associates specializes in financial publications, software development, strategic planning and investment management for credit unions.

The ranking for its first-quarter results included 18 calculations. There were 829 credit unions in Alliant Credit Union's peer group of $50 million to $100 million in assets.
Health Services Credit Union and Alliant Credit Union, Dubuque credit unions, are partnering with Operation: New View Community Action Agency to provide free financial education classes to Dubuque residents. During the classes, participants learn and share from their personal experiences in an open and trusting environment, all while financial experts from HSCU and ACU are there to guide the group and answer questions. FINANCIAL SERVICES Bethpage Federal Credit Union appointed two new officials. Vincent Scicchitano, previously with Emblem Health, was named to BFCU's supervisory committee. In this role, Scicchitano will help the Bethpage-based institution meet required National Credit Union Administration objectives, in addition to monitoring policies and procedures to safeguard BFCU's assets. Barrie E. Bazarsky, a senior associate with Birzon, Strang & Associates of Smithtown, was appointed associate director. Bazarsky will serve as a Bethpage volunteer and participate on various board committees.
