McDonald's customers can't proceed as a class on claims that the fast-food chain misled consumers as to the health effects of its food, a U.S. District Court in New York has ruled. The plaintiffs sued McDonald's, alleging that the company violated state law by engaging in a deceptive marketing scheme. According to the plaintiffs, between 1985 and 2002 McDonald's misled consumers into falsely believing that its fast-food products could be consumed on a daily basis without the risk of adverse health effects.
