Entered into rest on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at University Hospital, Mrs. , 63, beloved wife of Floyd M. Harrison II, of Evans, GA.
Mrs. Harrison was a native of Augusta and had lived in the Augusta area for all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Clinton Walter Williams, Jr. and Doris Ruth Taylor Williams. Mrs. Harrison taught school for 37 years and taught at Evans Elementary School for the past 23 years. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority, a member of Warren Baptist Church and the Sorrells Sunday School Class.

Not only did the Memphis University School junior capture first place in the decathlon at the prestigious Arcadia (Calif.) Invitational last weekend, he did it in grand style, setting personal records in eight of the 10 events.

After the Farmington-Mannington tragedy in 1968, which killed 78 miners including the current governor's uncle, Congress passed the Coal Mine Health and Safety Act of 1969.
