• Allegheny Township Police Again Charge Harrison Man with Stalking

An Allegheny County man has been charged for the second time this summer with stalking the same woman, according to Allegheny Township police. Sean Glenn Burkett, 36, of Meadow St., Harrison, is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison without bond pending preliminary hearings on charges stemming from both alleged incidents.

DAYTON -- Harrison Twp.'s $1.88 million estate tax windfall in 2010 more than doubled the municipality's general fund, but officials had no grandiose plans for the additional revenue. All that money goes into our general fund to offset other budget cuts that have been made," said Randall Brooks, the township administrator. "Our revenues in 2009 were down significantly. We had no indication earlier in the year that this was coming.

• Cleanup Set for Platte River Site

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Wis. - A cleanup of a site on the Platte River in Harrison Township will be conducted beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 16. Organized by the Friends of the Platte River, the site has decades of accumulation of junk. There are about 50 used tires and several appliances, and hundreds of beer bottles. The hillside is steep and getting tires, appliances and other junk up to the road is going to be a problem that only numerous volunteers will be able to handle, organizers say.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Police are investigating after a Jeep crashed into a house in Harrison Township overnight. The vehicle struck a porch and knocked down a fence along North Canal Street, police said. No one in the house was hurt.
