CHESAPEAKE - Minnie Virginia Harrell Smith Armstrong, 93, went to be with the Lord Oct. 31, 2009, following a short illness.
A native of South Norfolk, she was the daughter of the Charles A. and Mary Margaret Pierce Harrell and wife of the late Grover Glenward Smith and Henry Wilson Armstrong. She was also preceded in death by a twin son, twin great-grandsons, a sister and four brothers. For many years she worked as the branch manager of Howard Cleaners located in South Norfolk, followed by several years as a clerk at Irwin's Pharmacy.

PORTSMOUTH - Nettie Harrell Smith, 93, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010.
She was predeceased by her husband, B. R. Smith; parents, Nettie and William Harrell; sisters, Doris Stroud and Marian James. She is survived by her two sons, Bob Maisey (Alice), Bill Maisey (Kathie); stepdaughter, Joyce Nagelhout, stepson, Fred Smith (Connie); eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

NORFOLK - Aubrey D. "Buck" Smith, 81, of the 7700 block of Mount Pleasant Ave., passed away June 25, 2010. He was predeceased by two wives and two sons.
