LAS VEGAS -- A jury here Friday night found O.J. Simpson guilty of robbery and kidnapping, a verdict that came 13 year to the day after Simpson was acquitted in the highly publicized murders of his ex-wife and her friend.
Simpson was facing 12 charges stemming from a September 2007 confrontation in a casino hotel room in which he and five cohorts departed with hundreds of items of sports memorabilia.

LAS VEGAS Two co-defendants pleaded guilty to reduced charges Tuesday in the O.J. Simpson armed robbery case, agreeing to testify against Simpson and three others in the alleged hotel room theft of sports collectibles from two memorabilia dealers.

This time the former football star was arraigned, along with two other men, on suspicion of kidnapping and armed robbery of sports memorabilia dealers in a strange case that has ballooned to 12 charges that could send Simpson and the others to prison for life.

Simpson's conviction here on armed robbery and kidnapping charges with tears, laughter and a belief that their persistent efforts to collect a civil judgment from the former NFL star paid off, a family spokesman said Saturday morning.
It was the civil suit that brought him down," the representative quoted Goldman's father, Fred, as saying.

Patrick Simpson, the former manager of a gift shop in York Beach, pleaded not guilty in federal court in Portland on Wednesday to a charge of intentionally setting a fire that damaged personal property.
The charge stems from an incident on Jan. 16, 2007, in which Simpson, 40, showed up at the York police station with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

As much as I tried to avoid being taken in by the drama of the Casey Anthony trial, I was jerked alert by its conclusion, the most controversial murder acquittal since that of O.J. Simpson.
