ONTARIO - A self-proclaimed die-hard Los Angeles Lakers fan, Ira Kincade, 86, never thought she would ever get to watch a game in person. That was until Friday night when the Fontana resident was surprised with an early birthday gift: four floor seats to the Lakers game against the Golden State Warriors at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario.
ONTARIO - Derek Fisher measured his words carefully before the Lakers faced the Golden State Warriors in their exhibition finale Friday at the Citizens Business Bank Arena. He wasn't about to escalate a war of words between owners and players. Earlier in the day, NBA commissioner David Stern ratcheted up the rhetoric by suggesting the league could eliminate franchises as a way of saving money for next season and beyond. Stern also wants salaries reduced by $700 million-$800 million.
