During the trial of a man accused of killing his wife, the prosecutor made an impermissible "golden rule" argument to the jury, the Mississippi Supreme Court has ruled in vacating the husband's murder conviction. The defendant's wife died from a single shotgun wound to her face. Despite initially telling the police it was suicide, the defendant later admitted he shot his wife by accident.
