BUCKSPORT - Mary Clapper-Buck certainly has running in her blood.
Nobody has run a faster Tour du Lac 10-miler time than her brother Gerry. Her twin sister Margaret (now Margaret Jones) co- directed Saturday's 32nd annual race along with husband Chris and both run many local races. Father Charlie has been running for nearly 30 years.

VIRGINIA BEACH - , 76, passed away gracefully Dec. 5, 2007, in Lanham, Md. Tillman was born March 3, 1931, to the late Tillman and Floy Jones Sr. in Princess Anne County, Virginia. He spent his life between his beloved family in Virginia Beach and his Dunes family in Murrell's Inlet, S.C. His family and friends will always remember him for his great sense of humor and the kindness he showed towards everyone who knew him.

[Gerry Purdy] says that customer privacy is the biggest threat to text media as a marketing strategy. The trend could be derailed by "the misuse of the media, getting to people in harassing ways." Additionally, new technologies such as video, sound, and GPS tracking may make it easier to create new, innovative campaigns. But they have their drawbacks as well. Jazz has been a loving focus for photographer Paul Slaughter for nearly 40 years. An exhibit of 16 of his portraits of musicians is at Bumble Bee's Baja Grill, 301 Jefferson St. (820-2862) during the 2007 New Mexico Jazz Festival, from Thursday, July 19, to July 29.
Look at the late greats Slaughter has captured: Count Basie, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Elvin Jones, Herbie Mann, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, Gerry Mulligan, Buddy Rich, and Ray Brown. "I got Ray in 2002 at the Lensic," Slaughter recalled. "I said, 'Ray, I remember photographing you, like, 25 years ago.' He looked at me and said, 'That was my granddaddy.'

Milwaukee County Board Chairman Lee Holloway wants four more years in the board's top slot, but five other supervisors are challenging him for the post.
The five in addition to Holloway who on Wednesday declared their intent to seek the board's chairmanship were: Supervisors Gerry Broderick, James "Luigi" Schmitt, Elizabeth Coggs-Jones, Marina Dimitrijevic and John Weishan Jr.
