COVINA - A local parolee was arrested early Sunday after allegedly leading police on a chase in which he tried to ram an officer while drunk, authorities said. Gerald Thornton, 26, was booked on suspicion of evading police, drunken driving, hit-and-run, driving on a suspended license, possession of a controlled substance and assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, Covina police Sgt. David Povero said.
