Indiana's history might have been far different if it weren't for George Rogers Clark, who destroyed his finances and his health to win the Northwest Territory for the American colonies. The George Rogers Clark National Historical Park is in Vincennes, Ind., but Louisville, Ky., is where Clark's story really began and ended. He founded the city and spent the last sad, nine years of his life there.
, 71, of Sussex, died Sunday, April 6, 2008. He is survived by his daughter, Regina R. Davis and husband, Everett L. Davis III, of Yale; son, Scott Rogers of Waverly; brother, Joseph Henry Rogers Jr. and wife, Shirley, of Carson; and sister Virginia R. Crosier and husband, Leo, of Prince George.
Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside SUNNYSIDE - George Edward Rogers died at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Sunnyside, WA on August 5th, 2009 at the age of 89. He was born in Outlook, WA on February 22, 1920 to W.W. Rogers and Martha Ella Shields Rogers. He was the 11th of 14 children. He attended school in Sunnyside, WA.
