BANGOR Alex McKenney homered, doubled and singled to drive in three runs to power Bangor West past Houlton 14-2 Wednesday in Little League District 3 baseball, ages 11-12 tournament play at 13th Street Field.
Peter Kemble allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out eight for 2-0 Bangor West. Derek Fournier had three singles with two RBIs while George Payne and Kemble also hit three singles.

ELIZABETH CITY - George Speilman Payne, 80, of Timmerman Drive and a former resident of East Burgess Street, died Sept. 12, 2006, at the Albemarle Hospital.
Mr. Payne was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Hyde County, North Carolina, and was the son of the late Ronald Otto Payne and Lydia Pugh Payne. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Sewall Payne.
