When Ruby and Ralph Caruso's grandson Anthony, 12, who has cerebral palsy, no longer could walk without assistance and they needed to renovate their bathroom to accommodate his wheelchair, they called everyone they could think of for help. No luck.
But now they've found their "guardian angel" in the Joey Children's Fund of Branford, which has agreed to pay the $28,800 to install a roll-in shower. Tobin recalled. "Many of our Black leaders at that time, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Ambassador Andrew Young, Rev. Al Sharpton, and others spoke-out against the Prime Minister's comments, and I determined that the situation created an opportunity for Tobin & Associates.
In addition to Tobin's day-to-day involvement with some of the most exciting projects in our community, Tobin has contributed to the inspiration, establishment, and advancement of the Black-owned public relations firms throughout the United States, as the co-founder of the Black Public Relations Association where she served most r...

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 28 /U.S. Newswire/ -- This Rosh Hashanah, a growing number of American Jews in synagogues across the country will draw from ethnically and racially diverse backgrounds.
New research debunks the commonly held view that America's Jews are a monolithic people of exclusively white European ancestry. In their new book, In Every Tongue (Institute for Jewish & Community Research, $25, 251 pages) noted scholar Gary A. Tobin and co- authors and show that American Jews are a multiracial people -- perhaps the most diverse people in history.
