In honor of West Virginia Symphony conductor Grant Cooper's New Zealand heritage, diners at the Saturday evening Maestro's Dinner will feast on cuisine that features the European, Asian and Polynesian influences that flavor his homeland's cuisine. Lamb, seafood, sweet potatoes and pavlova, considered a national dessert, headline the elegant dinner.
With a collective 35-plus years of symphony meal plans between them, Reggie Carnemolla, formerly the Charleston Marriott's general manager, and longtime Symphony Sunday volunteer Diana Amores worked with the Coopers and the University of Charleston's food staff to develop an exquisite menu for "A Spectacular New Zealand Feast." The dinner will take place Saturday under a tent on campus.
