William A. "Bill" McManus, 88 years old, flew more than 25 missions in a B-24 Liberator bomber in World War II. Little did he know that almost 70 years later he would have the opportunity to pin "wings" on his grandson, Lt. Wilson M. McManus, a recent graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy.
Wilson recently completed flight training at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fl a., and was winged in a ceremony on July 15 . Bill proudly pinned the wings on the chest of his newly commissioned helicopter pilot grandson.
