The Pentagon has released $430 million for construction of Army and Navy H-60 Black Hawk-variant helicopters and hardware at Stratford's Sikorsky Aircraft, exercising an option for an added five aircraft in 2007, officials said Friday. The funding sets timelines for manufacture and deliveries, covering the last portion of a five-year procurement contract. For this fiscal year, the funding covers 20 Army UH-60M Black Hawks, already authorized and paid for in current defense authorization and appropriations law.
