LA PUENTE - First United Methodist Church marked its centennial Sunday with a fiesta and special bilingual service, and at noon handlers released doves while the congregation sang "Happy Birthday.
The celebration simultaneously marked the completion of some restoration work on the church's 89-year-old building and served as a thank-you note to the primarily Latino congregation.

Ms. Tucker has presented her ministry of music in concert halls and churches around the world from Broadway to Bethlehem using a variety of musical styles including sacred, inspirational and gospel music. She has witnessed in England, Switzerland, Holland, Russia, Poland, Manger Square in Bethlehem on Christmas Eve-1999 and in the Czech Republic in July of 2001.

The photography of Rick Strobaugh and marathon mementos, also from Rick Strobaugh, are featured this month in the Gathering Area of the First United Methodist Church, 1 E. Olive Ave., Redlands.
Strobaugh got his training in photography as part of his duties with the Redlands Police Department doing crime scene investigations. He spent a good part of his career as a detective in charge of the crime scene investigation division, photographing crimes scenes, injuries, traffic accidents and dead bodies.

Helen Bell, a juried member of the prestigious National Association of Women Artists, majored in art at Western Maryland College and continued her studies at the Maryland Institute of Art. She received a merit scholarship for a year at the Telfair Academy of Arts and Sciences in Savannah, Ga., studied independently in France, and continues to enroll in museum and university courses as well as private studios.
