• Maryland Court of Special Appeals Says Church Cannot Construct New Electronic Sign

In the first Maryland appellate case dealing with a federal law protecting religious groups' land use rights, the Court of Special Appeals has held that a church cannot erect a huge electronic sign adjacent to the Baltimore Beltway. The Trinity Assembly of God of Baltimore City Inc. had petitioned Baltimore County for a sign variance in 2002, but the county's Board of Appeals turned the church down. The Baltimore County Circuit Court affirmed the decision.
