The back room of Fuzion Grill (460 N. Second St.) was hardly the setting I imagined for a "Vegas quality performance." But every Friday and Saturday the restaurant/ social club plays host to "The Men of the Cave." Philly's all-male strip revue, and that's how they bill it. "Experience the evolution of man," it says on their website, menofthecavephilly.com.
There was little time for me Io marvel at the sleaziness of the room before the emcee/DJ came oui to get "Fantasy Friday" underway.
Up next was Emilio, "The Sexy Sergeant," who managed to rip off his cameo get up in one fell swoop. He was also the only guy to completely disrobe (but cheekily kept his junk hidden behind a small white towel).

Los Angeles firefighters are heated up over a new policy that requires them to cover all visible tattoos while on the job, no matter whether they're responding to a call or making dinner in the firehouse.
Since the policy took effect May 1, firefighters complain they've had to wear sweatshirts, long sleeves, and even skin patches to hide their body art.

Firefighters usually have the challenge of suiting up fast, but 12 of the area's finest -- as in most buff -- have actually taken it off from the waist up to raise money for Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital. The 2005 Connecticut Firefighters' calendar will be hot, hot, hot off the presses in about two weeks. Women and men who like to feast their eyes on a man in uniform are likely to relish the sight of these men half out of uniform.
The calendar became so popular in its debut last year, after an article appeared in the Register, that what started out as a home- grown project went to a second printing and raised $7,000 after expenses to benefit a summer camp for children who are burn victims. They originally expected to sell a few hundred calendars, but topped 2,000.

Today we publish reader responses to our Question of the Week: "Some city of L.A. firefighters are up in arms about a new policy requiring them to cover up their tatoos most of the day. Will this rule promote professionalism or is it overkill?
Overkill: Tattoos are a personal choice often made in early life by wanting to "belong." My concern is about the qualifications, certifications, dedication and wholehearted commitment of the firemen to their chosen, demanding and dangerous profession. I'm grateful they want to put their lives in jeopardy to save mine.
