A fit of jealousy led to gunshots and an odd turn of events early Wednesday near the Union Station Lounge in central Colorado Springs, police said.
Adam Simpson, 31, allegedly fired a 40-caliber handgun at a 29- year-old man after the two argued "over a female with which they had a mutual relationship," said Colorado Springs police spokesman Sgt. Jim Meyers.

PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh fired football coach Mike Haywood on Saturday, saying he could not continue in the job he held for only 2 1/2 weeks because of his arrest on a domestic violence charge.
Haywood was released Saturday from St. Joseph County Jail in Indiana on $1,000 cash bond, said an officer at the jail who declined to give her name, after the charge was upgraded from a misdemeanor to felony domestic battery in the presence of a minor.

A Bartlett police detective has been fired after driving a city- issued vehicle to Hooters while off duty and having a beer in front of her when an inspector approached.
Jennifer Wilson, who had been with the department for about 10 years, was dismissed Friday on charges of violating administrative and city employee policies, including insubordination, improper use of a city vehicle, conduct unbecoming a city employee, carelessness in performance of duty and violating the law enforcement ethics code.

A 31-year-old man was arrested early Thursday after multiple gunshots were fired and a house was hit in central Colorado Springs.
From midnight until about 2 a.m., police were called multiple times about gunshots being fired in the same area, near East Monument Street and Prairie Road.
