Oratorical contest The West Virginia State University student chapter of the NAACP will have an oratorical contest at 1 p.m. today in the Davis Fine Arts Theater. The event is part of the university's homecoming activities.

FUTURE EVENTS * People Concerned About MIC will show the new film "Bhopali" at 7 p.m. Monday in West Virginia State University's Davis Fine Arts Theater. "Bhopali" is an award-winning documentary about the survivors of the world's worst industrial disaster, the 1984 Union Carbide gas leak in Bhopal, India. HUNTINGTON - Marshall University alum Craig Johnson is the author of a series of mystery novels that are New York Times best sellers and now are being made into TV shows. Johnson was born in Huntington in 1961 and attended Marshall, where he obtained a degree in fine arts, specializing in theater.
Singer Mable John's musical career took her from gospel to R&B to soul and back to gospel. She will perform at 4 p.m. Saturday with the Godfathers of Groove in the Davis Fine Arts Theater at West Virginia State University.
