LONDON (Reuters) - The London Stock Exchange has struck a deal with British regulator the Financial Services Authority to buy a reporting service which the LSE claims will expand its client base. The LSE said on Tuesday it had agreed to pay the FSA 15 million ($24.4 million) for its Transaction Reporting System (TRS), subject to clearance from British competition regulator the Office of Fair Trading.

• At Oanda, It's Business As Usual After Cftc Leverage Ruling ; Forex Broker Already Offers Maximum Leverage of 50:1 On Trades

NEW YORK, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- OANDA Corporation, provider of innovative online forex trading and currency data services, applauds the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) for setting new rules that will better protect consumers in the retail forex trading industry. The CFTC's new rules require forex dealers to cap leverage at 50:1 on major currency pairs. They come into effect on October 18, 2010. The 50:1 leverage cap brings the U.S. levels in line with those of other global regulators, including the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Japan's Financial Service Agency was the latest to introduce a 50:1 cap on August 1.

The Port Authority project, North Shore Connector, may suffer some budgeting shortfalls in the future. The State senate approved a measure to limit the amount of money the Commonwealth will dedicate to the project, citing Port Authority service cuts and layoffs.
