• Oakland Man Admits Spending Clients' Money

An Oakland man admitted Wednesday to defrauding nine of his former insurance clients of more than $1.9 million, authorities said. Daniel J. Trolaro, 35, a former securities dealer and certified financial planner with the Prudential Insurance Company of America, had originally been indicted last August, acting insurance fraud Prosecutor Ronald Chillemi said in a statement. Trolaro pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of theft by failure to make required disposition of property.
