• Tomblin Names Acting Director at Housing Fund: ; Agency Is Undergoing Federal Investigation Over Perdue-Pauley Land Deal

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has appointed a top administrator at the West Virginia Housing Development Fund to lead the agency amid a federal investigation. Erica Boggess, the agency's deputy chief, will become acting executive director on Jan. 1, Tomblin spokesman Kimberly Osborne confirmed Tuesday.

• Federal Investigation Finds No Evidence of Corruption: State Agency Wrongdoing

Federal prosecutors said in a court filing that they found no evidence supporting accusations of public corruption in a case that prompted them to subpoena several West Virginia state government agencies last year. Prosecutors reviewed more than 100 conversations recorded by Clark Diehl, a Charleston business owner who alleged corrupt government practices after agreeing to plead guilty to fraud involving a state contract, the U.S. District Court filing said.
