S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, a Democrat who is running for re- election in Maine's 1st Congressional District, is leading her Republican opponent in campaign fundraising by nearly a 7-to-1 ratio, according to the most recent reports. Pingree, running for her second term in Congress, took in $182,000 in the fundraising period April 1 to June 30, according to Federal Election Commission reports.
President Obama continued collecting money for his 2010 Senate re- election campaign even after he resigned his seat from Illinois, including a maximum $2,300 donation the day after Christmas from a top executive of a Wall Street firm that had received a government bailout. Four contributions - $4,800 in all - were donated to the Obama 2010 fund on Dec. 26, according to Federal Election Commission reports.
Members of Arizona's congressional delegation who may face strong challengers in next year's elections are off to a fast start on the fundraising circuit, according to Federal Election Commission reports filed at the end of the first quarter of the year. The reports that were due April 15 show three potentially vulnerable Democrats with big bank accounts, while one Republican who withstood more than $2 million in national Democratic spending could once again face a challenge after a sluggish first three months.

It appears that Congresswoman Grace Napolitano has a side job. She is a sub-prime lender. The Federal Election Commission reports that in 1998 she lent a "person of modest income" $150,000. And like any self-respecting sub- prime lender she charged that person 18 percent and she is still collecting.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton lived hand to mouth during the rush of presidential primaries while Democratic rival Sen. Barack Obama outspent her and put money in the bank. New Federal Election Commission reports show Obama raised at a clip of nearly $2 million per day in February, an open spigot of money that left him with $30 million in the bank for March.
Romney worth at least $190 million WASHINGTON - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is worth between $190 million and $250 million, his campaign announced after filing personal financial reports with the Federal Election Commission.
Democratic congressional candidate Denny Heck has raised $950,000 in campaign funds including $350,000 of his own money since launching his campaign to succeed U.S. Rep. Brian Baird in the 3rd Congressional District seat last December. That puts him well ahead of the two leading Republican candidates in the race, state Rep. Jaime Herrera and Olympia financial consultant David Castillo. According to Federal Election Commission reports for the three- month period ending June 30, Heck has raised $950,162 to date, including $481,921 from individuals, $14,950 from political action committees, and $2,255 from the Democratic Party.
